The weather in Masai Mara, Kenya, typically features warm days and cool nights, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 28°C (59°F to 82°F) throughout the year. The region experiences two main seasons: the dry season (June to October), which is ideal for wildlife viewing with clear skies and low humidity, and the wet season (November to May), characterized by frequent rains, especially in April and May. Current forecasts suggest partly cloudy conditions with daytime highs around 26°C (79°F) and nighttime lows near 14°C (57°F).
JAN TO MARCH- Short Dry

The season is dry and hot, but best to sight big cats in their most active behavior in Masai Mara.

APRIL TO JUNE- Long Rains

The reserve receives lots of rain and becomes so bushy making easy it to do any game drives at all times. But good for exclusive safaris

JULY TO OCTOBER- Long Dry

Best time to witness the great wildebeest migration and crossings in Masai Mara. The reserve becomes active after a substantial amount of rain from April to June.

NOVEMBER TO DECEMBER- Short Rains

November and December are the start of the short rainy season in the Masai Mara, offering cooler mornings, warm afternoons, and dramatic afternoon thunderstorms, with the landscape turning lush and green. This period features a "baby boom" of newborns and the final stages of the Great Migration, though crowds are lower than the peak dry season, except around the Christmas and New Year holidays.
